What we do

We provide the tools and the structure to use them well.

The Assessment Company® is a national employee assessment firm founded in 1993 and an Authorized Wiley Partner.

We serve employers across the United States. Based in Louisiana’s Baton Rouge Region, we retain strong Louisiana roots and provide employee assessment support across Louisiana.

We developed the Occupational DNA® process. Our hands-on support includes job analysis, position-specific Performance Models, report interpretation, structured interview support, and manager training and implementation support.

Our focus is practical implementation: the right assessment, a clear process, useful reporting, and support that helps decision-makers apply the evidence well.

01

Start with the job.

Assessment data matters most when it is connected to real work and real performance expectations.

02

Use evidence, not theater.

The goal is a clearer decision, not a complicated report that never changes what happens next.

03

Keep a human in the decision.

No assessment should become an automatic substitute for thoughtful, job-relevant judgment.

John developed the Occupational DNA® process and wrote Breaking the Code: Hiring Strategies, Occupational DNA®, & the Modern Organization to help leaders move beyond résumé-first hiring.

His work centers on a practical question: what happens when organizations define the job first, then use evidence to understand the person?
